Why can’t I move or change the dates of this component?
Some components can be set up to have an impact on your opening figures. These must always start at the start of the plan, and cannot be moved to start later than this date.
This is controlled by a tickbox at the top of the component’s form, in the section “Starting <component name> value”
If you tick this tickbox, the component is assumed to be an existing asset or liability of the business, and will form part of your opening balance position.
The components which have this option are:

- Loan
- Investment
- Equity
- Inventory
- Group Inventory
